“You are not in competition with anybody except yourself; plan to outdo your past not other people.” ― Jaachynma N.E. Aguthe Prince and the Pauper

So many times we focus on other people’s achievements and everything that we tend to do is only aimed at outdoing them. How about we focus on outdoing our past instead!!

Work harder everyday to be better than you were a day before. Wake up each day committed to doing better than you did yesterday. Ignore what the rest are doing and achieving because we all aren’t running the same race. You should be aiming at being better than you used to be.

“Don’t compare your life to others. There’s no comparison between the sun and the moon. They shine when it’s their time.” — Cassey HO via Instagram

It’s toxic to compare yourself to others. Don’t make it hard for yourself. All you should be doing is to look back and appreciate how far you have come and what you have achieved. Every small step you take counts. Don’t discourage yourself. Don’t ruin your self esteem by comparing your success to that of someone else.

Our stories are so much different. You don’t know how and where they started from. Comparing yourself to another person will only drain your energy. Stop comparing your chapter one to someone’s chapter twenty. Why should you compare your beginning to someone else’s middle!! Stay in your lane.

“You are not required to perform like them. You are required to perform like you.”
― Bangambiki Habyarimana

Be you and do your own thing. Don’t underestimate the beauty of just being YOU. Comparing yourself with others will bring you no good than bringing about discontent. How about you turn comparison into inspiration?

Take your time, do your own thing and allow yourself to grow. You can achieve so much more. Don’t engage yourself in unhealthy competition. Let everything be done on your own pace and not that of everyone else.

However, it’s your choice to make. You either spend your time comparing yourself to others or you spend it preparing yourself.
