Don’t reach for your phone the first minutes of your day. It will be very good if you stay away from any of your gadgets in the morning. I for one stay away from my phone every first hour of my mornings such that I don’t be compelled to check those notifications from social media.
Starting your day with checking your emails, facebook or instagram will end up polluting your mind. Your mind get filled up with the other people’s opinions, tragedies happening around the world among other stuff.
Also, If you start off your day with social media, you are likely to spend more time on it throughout the day.
You are supposed to be preparing your day, getting ready for work, don’t allow technology to distract you.
3. Make your bed
According to the U.S. Navy Admiral William H. McCraven, If you make your bed every morning, you will have accomplished the first task of the day. Making your bed will [reinforce] the fact that the little things in life matter. If you can’t do the little things right, you’ll never be able to do the big things right.
Making your bed also feels good. Well, sleeping in a freshly made bed tops the list of things that make us feel good , according to a survey of 2,000 people by Bupa.
It also helps to develop good habits. Once it becomes a ritual, you will find that other good habits will naturally grow. You will begin to realize how quickly you can finish off such tasks thus begin to do more like washing the dishes among other similar house chores.
Stretching takes just a few minutes of your time but its very important. It increases flexibility and reduces back pain. The American Council on Exercise says that stretching in the morning can be useful when it comes to eliminating aches and pains in the muscles and joints. While these aches and pains can develop at any time throughout the day, they often occur in the morning after the body has been at rest for a long period.
Not to forget, it helps to increase the blood flow to your muscles and well, more blood in your muscles means more energy in the morning . Stretching also increases blood flow to your brain and sharpens your concentration.
The experts also suggest that morning stretches can help to support your energy throughout the entire day.
When you mention meditation to some people, they feel like its an ancient ritual. However they don’t know the benefits of meditation.

I personally meditate for several reasons but mainly to clear my head.

After those long hours of sleep, your body is dehydrated thus its helpful to drink water in the morning such that you rehydrate.

Many people in Uganda and other parts of the world skip breakfast. Some because they are in a rush to go to work and some because they can’t afford it so opt to skip it and wait for lunch while others just because they want to control their weight.
Personally, I used to skip breakfast because I didn’t think it was that important. After all I could wakeup late just a few hours to lunch time.
But all that changed when I learnt about the benefits of having breakfast.
Experts say that people who eat breakfast are less likely to overeat the rest of the day.
